Privacy Policy

Bidding Enterprise LLC ("Company", "we", "us") operates the Build Intel platform and the Build Intel Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, company name, role, and phone number provided during registration.

Project data: estimates, bid packages, scope sheets, leveling data, subcontractor information, and other project-related content you create or upload.

Usage data: pages visited, features used, project activity, bid coordination actions, and DEXTER interactions.

Uploaded files: documents, drawings, specifications, bid packages, and other files you upload to the Platform.

Device information: browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers for security and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Operate, maintain, and improve the Build Intel platform
Provide AI-powered estimating assistance via DEXTER
Process subscriptions and payments
Send transactional emails (invitations, notifications, password resets)
Analyse usage patterns to improve features and performance
Ensure platform security and prevent fraud

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on cloud infrastructure hosted in the United States:

Supabase— primary database with Row-Level Security ensuring complete isolation between organisations
Vercel— application hosting and edge network
Backblaze B2— file and document storage

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Database access is protected by Row-Level Security policies.

4. Chrome Extension Data

The Build Intel Chrome extension ("Build Intel — Local Backup & Performance") handles data as follows:

Local storage only:all cached data, backups, and performance data are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage using the Chrome Storage API
No data sent to third parties: the extension does not transmit your data to any third-party servers, analytics services, or advertising networks
Communication limited to Build Intel: the extension only communicates with official Build Intel domains (buildintel.com and our Vercel deployment) to sync your data with your existing account
No browsing history collected: the extension does not monitor, collect, or transmit your browsing activity outside of Build Intel pages
User-controlled: you can clear all extension data at any time through the extension options page or by removing the extension

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with:

Service providers who assist in operating the Platform (Supabase, Anthropic, Postmark, Stripe)
Law enforcement when required by valid legal process

Subcontractor data, bid information, and project details are never shared between organisations.

6. AI Processing

DEXTER uses Anthropic's Claude API to process your queries and documents. Your data is sent to Anthropic solely for generating responses and is not used to train AI models. Anthropic's data retention and processing terms apply as a sub-processor.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data and request a copy
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Delete your account and all associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies are used only with your consent.

9. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Uploaded files are deleted immediately upon request. Anonymised usage data may be retained for analytics.

For EU/EEA users: Bidding Enterprise LLC is the data controller. Our legal basis for processing is contractual necessity (providing the Platform) and legitimate interest (improving our services). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. You may also request data portability or restriction of processing by contacting us.

11. CCPA Compliance

For California residents: we do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any future sale (though we do not sell data). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
